Founded in 1894 in the USA, we are one of the world’s oldest and most respected HVAC manufacturers — known for pioneering technologies that transformed the heating and cooling industry.

Our Global Journey

1894

Clayton Dunham founded C.A. Dunham Company in the USA after inventing the first thermostatic steam trap.

1935

Established the first international manufacturing facility in Great Britain for the European market.

1965

Developed the first centrifugal chiller, marking a milestone in HVAC engineering.

1967

Introduced screw compressor technology for air conditioning and refrigeration — a global first.

1990

Designed the single-stage centrifugal compressor, known for reliability and superior efficiency.

1995

Opened a 20-acre manufacturing facility in Yantai, China, to support growing demand in Asia.

1998

Established a second plant in Kajang, Malaysia, and relocated global headquarters there.

2010

Introduced the dual-stage centrifugal compressor for high ambient conditions.

2014

Developed our first magnetic bearing chiller, setting new efficiency standards.

2019

Began construction of a new manufacturing facility in Miami, USA, to serve the Americas.

Strengthening the Legacy Locally

Dunham-Bush entered the Indian market in 1994 through a strategic partnership with Voltas Limited, marking the start of its operations in the region. Over the years, our products have become integral to major commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across the country.
To serve customers more directly and expand our local presence, Dunham-Bush India was established as a wholly owned subsidiary in 2017. Since then, we’ve continued to grow, innovate, and strengthen our footprint nationwide.

Our India Journey

1994

Entered India through a strategic partnership with Voltas Limited.

1995–2008

Deployed high-performance air-cooled and water-cooled screw chillers across landmark projects.

2010

Delivered India’s first centrifugal chiller, expanding our technological capabilities.

2017

Established a wholly owned country office to enhance customer engagement.

2018

Opened our India headquarters in Gurgaon (NCR).

2019

Expanded operations across North, South, and West India, with new sales and service partners.

2022

Built a dedicated in-house service division to deliver faster, more reliable support.

2024

Introduced VRF and Light Commercial systems, diversifying our India portfolio.
